Ideally situated on the waterfront of vibrant Cairns and offering a range of accommodation styles, Cairns Harbour Lights has recently undergone a meaningful and masterful design upgrade, firmly cementing its reputation as the superior option for all types of holidayers to this region.
Inspired by the culture and aesthetics of the Balinese islands, the open-air gazebo-style entertainment spaces at the Bale Resort were the beautifully-executed product of collaboration between the architect on this project, and In Design International, with the tropical far-north Queensland location of Port Douglas in mind.
In Design International were employed to select the interior materials of these pavilions, as well as other areas of the resort. Finishes, fixtures and fittings were all selected to reference the Balinese theme, with hammered bluestone tiled walls in reception and merbau timber featured throughout the restaurant, bar, spa and pool areas. In Design International also worked with Balinese craftspeople on the design of the solid teak dining tables, chairs and lounge furniture, completing the overall aesthetic with a high level of authenticity.
